## Dated Kitchens in Mississauga? Reface or Replace

### Forty-year-old oak doors in Erin Mills and Meadowvale kitchens

The honey oak cathedral doors look dated and the hinges sag, but the layout still works and the boxes feel solid.

**Why it happens here:** Erin Mills and Meadowvale were built in phases through the 1970s and 1980s, so many kitchens are original or on their first refresh, usually oak or thermofoil over particleboard boxes.

**Our fix:** We check every box. If they are dry and square, cabinet refacing with new Shaker doors and Blum hinges keeps the layout; swollen sink bases get replaced in Baltic Birch.

## Homes We Build For, From Port Credit to Meadowvale

Erin Mills and Meadowvale were largely built through the 1980s and 1990s. Many kitchens there still have the original honey oak cathedral doors or white thermofoil, usually on particleboard boxes. When the boxes are dry and square, refacing with new Shaker doors and Blum hinges costs roughly 60% of a new kitchen.

Lorne Park and Port Credit have larger detached houses on bigger lots, often with an addition or a bump-out kitchen. These are typically full custom kitchens with islands, pantry walls and panel-ready appliances.

Streetsville has older village houses with heritage character, where painted inset or Shaker doors suit the home. City Centre towers near Square One are compact condo suites that need board submissions and elevator-fit boxes.

## Replace or Reface a Mississauga Kitchen?

Check the sink base first. If the bottom is soft or swollen, the particleboard has absorbed water and that box needs replacing. Check the doors next: if they still line up with new hinges, the boxes are probably sound.

Many Mississauga kitchens end up mixed: replace the sink base and one or two damaged boxes, reface the rest. We quote both options side by side so you can compare.

## Delivery and Scheduling Along the QEW and 403

Mississauga is one of our longer delivery runs, so we load the truck the evening before and leave early to stay ahead of QEW and 403 traffic. Lakeshore neighbourhoods like Port Credit and Lorne Park are reached along the QEW; Erin Mills, Meadowvale and Streetsville come up the 403.

Detached houses usually have driveway access for the truck, which makes delivery days short. City Centre towers around Square One run on freight elevator bookings, and we schedule those installs inside the building's permitted hours.

A typical Mississauga family kitchen takes 3-4 days to install. Design visits are booked by appointment and we bring sample doors so you can see finishes in your own light.

## Planning Around the Seasons

Summer and early fall are busy for family kitchens as people plan around school calendars. Book 8-10 weeks ahead if you want the kitchen done before a holiday.

Winter is a good time for refacing because the kitchen stays usable and doors are finished off site.
