Custom Kitchen Cabinets in Brampton for Growing Family Homes

Brampton's newer subdivisions came with builder-grade particleboard cabinets that are now failing at the sink base. We replace them with Baltic Birch boxes, marine-grade sink bases and Blum hardware, built for large family kitchens and islands.

The Local Problem

Builder-Grade Cabinets Failing in Brampton?

Builder-grade sink bases giving out in Springdale and Castlemore

The floor of the sink cabinet is soft and swollen, drawer fronts chip at the edges and doors no longer close flush.

Why it happens here: Springdale and Castlemore were built out from the early 1990s into the 2000s, and many houses still have the original builder-grade particleboard kitchens, now 20 to 30 years into daily use.

Our fix: We replace them with custom kitchen cabinets in Baltic Birch, a marine-grade sink base and Blum hardware, sized for the large islands these homes can take.

Three failures account for 80% of GTA customer complaints.

  • Wrong fit

Installer skipped laser templating; cabinets arrive 3/8 inch short of the wall.

Our fix: Proliner 3D laser templating after cabinet removal catches odd walls to 1/16 inch. See how

  • Wrong finish

Contractor-grade paint instead of UV-cured conversion varnish; drawers chip in six months.

Our fix: Benjamin Moore Scuffx or Rubio Monocoat finish that stands up to daily use. See how

  • Wrong hardware

Generic big-box hinges without soft-close; drawers slam, boxes rack within a year.

Our fix: Blum Legrabox runners and Blumotion hinges with a lifetime mechanical rating. See how

Process

How a Builder-Grade Replacement Works

1 week of CAD design and change rounds, 3-4 weeks of CNC fabrication and finishing, 3-4 days on site.

  1. 01 / Step

    Free CAD quote request

Send a few photos and rough sizes through the form. We reply within 1-2 business days to book a design visit.

  2. 02 / Step

Cabinet removal + Proliner laser templating

Old boxes come out first so the laser reads true wall geometry to 1/16 inch, not the line of the old cabinets.

  3. 03 / Step

    OnShape 3D CAD walkthrough + sign-off

A Red Seal lead walks you through door placement, drawer stacks and appliance panels. Change rounds happen here, on paper.

  4. 04 / Step

CNC fabrication + finishing in our GTA shop

Boxes are cut on the Biesse Rover CNC, edge banded and finished in our booth over 3-4 weeks while your kitchen stays clean.

  5. 05 / Step

    3-4 day install + post-install walkthrough

WSIB-covered crews level, scribe and adjust every door, then walk the finished room with you before the last payment.

Subdivision Homes and Builder-Grade Kitchens

Springdale, Castlemore and Mount Pleasant Village are largely 2000s and 2010s subdivisions. Most kitchens were installed by the builder: particleboard boxes, thermofoil or laminate doors and basic hinges. Fifteen years on, the sink base is often swollen, doors sag and drawer slides have bent.

These houses tend to have large open kitchens with a family room beside them, so a new kitchen often includes a big island, a pantry wall and a coffee or bar station. Two-tone kitchens with a wood island and painted perimeter are popular.

Bramalea and Heart Lake have older 1970s and 1980s houses where walls have often been opened up to connect the kitchen and dining room, leaving bulkheads we build around.

Why Builder-Grade Cabinets Fail

Particleboard swells when water reaches the core, usually from a slow leak under the sink or a dishwasher. Once it swells, it does not recover. That is why every sink base we build is marine-grade plywood.

Builder hinges and side-mount slides wear out after years of family use. Our boxes run on Blum Legrabox and Blumotion hardware with a lifetime mechanical rating.

If only the hardware has failed and the boxes are sound, a hardware upgrade or refacing can be enough. We check before quoting.

Delivering Along the 410 to Caledon and Georgetown

Brampton deliveries come up the 410 and 427 from our GTA shop. Subdivision streets in Springdale and Castlemore usually have wide driveways, so the truck can park close and boxes go straight through the garage or front door on protected floors.

The same crews run north to Caledon and west to Georgetown, so those homeowners get the same pricing and schedule. We group installs in the area to keep travel time down.

Large family kitchens with islands usually take 4 days on site, with the island set last so the counter fabricator can template the whole kitchen at once.

Best Time for a Kitchen Replacement

Summer is popular for family kitchens so the work finishes before school starts. Book 8-10 weeks ahead.

Many families plan the kitchen before a big holiday gathering; we can usually schedule the install to finish two weeks ahead of the date.

Replacement Kitchen Pricing

Our published per-linear-foot rates apply in Brampton: Shaker $350-$500/lf, flat-slab $400-$600/lf, paint-grade $500-$750/lf, all-in.

A 24 lf family kitchen with an 8 lf island in Shaker usually lands at $11,200-$16,000 for cabinetry; two-tone with a walnut island sits higher.

Got Questions?

Brampton Cabinet Questions Answered

Why are the sink bases in Springdale kitchens failing first?

Springdale dates from 1991 onward, and most original kitchens there were builder-grade particleboard. After 20-plus years of small leaks, the sink base absorbs water and swells. We replace it with a marine-grade plywood base.

Can you replace an entire builder-grade kitchen in Castlemore?

Yes. Most of our Castlemore work is full replacement with Baltic Birch boxes, Blum Legrabox drawers and a redesigned island, not patching the original boxes.

Do you build islands with a second sink or a range?

Yes. Islands with seating, drawer stacks, a prep sink or a cooktop are common in the larger detached homes, and we coordinate the plumbing and venting with your trades.

Are 1960s Bramalea kitchens worth refacing?

Sometimes. Bramalea houses were built mostly through the 1960s, and many have already had one replacement. We inspect the boxes and quote refacing and new side by side.

Do you serve Caledon and Georgetown?

Yes. The crews that work in Heart Lake and Mount Pleasant Village also cover Caledon and Georgetown at the same per-linear-foot rates.

Can you redo our bathrooms and laundry too?

Yes. Vanities and laundry rooms use moisture-resistant boxes and can match the kitchen finish, which makes sense in houses where all three were builder-grade.
